Pathway to the Pure Land Day Retreat, Sat. April 11th, 9am to 3:30pm

Since we all must face our own mortality, we would be wise to become familiar with death and dying now, while we’re still able, and learn practices that will help us when our time comes.

This Saturday retreat will enable you to become familiar with the profound practice of transference of consciousness, as presented in the sadhana “Pathway to the Pure Land.”

You’ll also receive brief, practical advice about death and dying, and have time for questions and discussion.

At this Saturday retreat you’ll gain:

  • Familiarity with “Pathway to the Pure Land,” an essential Powa practice, 4 sessions
  • An overview of the process of dying, death and rebirth
  • Some brief instructions on how to help those who are dying
  • Practical advice on how to prepare for death

The Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso said that if you prepare carefully now, you can be like a child returning to the home of your parents, and pass away joyfully, without fear.

The retreat is based on Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s teachings and book, Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully, and a recent course at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada, given by Gen Kelsang Rabgye.

The sadhana is available separately from Tharpa Publications or in the book, Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully in Appendix II.

Everyone is welcome to attend, beginners and advanced practitioners alike. If interested, please register: (Click here).
